Our Process Timeline
01.
First Contact
Whether you contact me through my website, email, instagram, or phone number, I will respond promptly with information on my photo schedule. If interested in booking a shoot, we will decide on a photo consultation time that works with the both of us.
02.
Photo Consultation
This is where we talk about your vision in detail. And decide if we are a good fit. By the end of the consultation we will have decided on location and time of day. Along with what the photo session would entail such as price point, number of returned edited photos, return date, and any additional information including contract information.
03.
Day of Shoot
I arrive at the shoot location 30mins - 1hr before clients are scheduled to arrive. This way I can foresee how busy the location may be, parking available, and updated traffic info. Once I arrive, I share a location pin with you of where I parked and we meet there. We settle in, put any extra bags or items out of the way, and depending on the shoot we will start with guided prompts to ease ourselves in poses.
04.
Returned Photos
My return rate is generally 2-3 weeks, depending on the photo session booked. Rush fees can be put in order if requested by client. All photos are delivered through an online platform where you will have access to download the entire photo album or individual photos. The online platform is also connected to a print lab where you can easily download high quality prints of your photos. This album is shared through email and link sent via text. Whoever you share this link with has access to the album.
FAQ
Where are you located?
Lake Tahoe, Califonria. I have a solid client base here, the Bay Area, Santa Cruz, and San Diego. You will see in my work that I have a bit of each of those regions of California incorporated in my style. I currently take photos in each area.
How many pictures will we receive?
Depending on photo session booked, mini sessions (30 mins) are a minimum of 25 photos. 1HR sessions are a minimum of 50 photos and 2HR sessions are a minimum of 100 photos.
How should we dress for our family session?
Clothing fully depends on comfort, weather, and location. If there is a viewpoint or beach we are walking to I will let clients know to bring sneakers for walking and their dress shoes for the photos.
For natural light forest, mountain, beach photos I always recommend solid neutral colors and tones. Because the environments in which we will be shooting in will provide a lot of detail and contrast, wearing solid colors without patterns or brand names is always a good choice. That way it can compliment the surrounds well and not overpower the natural aesthetic.
How do you sustain children's attention in photo sessions?
I've been working with kids from 6months - 13 year olds for the last 10 years. If I learned anything in this field it's that adaptability if your biggest supporter. Especially when it comes to working with children.
I will bring baby toys or have the parents bring their favorite toy to dangle above the lens to catch their attention. This works for the little ones.
I recommend bringing bubbles or lolly pops. When it comes to toddlers to mid-age children, I have the patience to see what they are interested when it comes to the shoot. Sometimes I show them how the camera works and follow their creative lead.
Most of my family sessions include a ton of laughter, exploration, and love. Some of my favorite photo sessions to date.
When will we receive our photos?
Depending on the photo session booked, photos are generally returned any where from 2-3 weeks.
How long are the photo sessions?
Depending on photo session booked they can range from 30 MINS / 1HR / 2HR unless you are a retainer client. For Retainer Client info please go to Retainer Client page.
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
That is absolutely ok! With everything we try for the first time or something that is new to us, it takes practice to feel comfortable. I will do my best to provide guided poses you can naturally lean into and usually after the first 15 minutes you will find the poses that feel most natural to you.
Sometimes trying new poses can feel uncomfortable, but on the camera look great! I always show my clients the photos after I take them so they know what it's looking like throughout the process and if they want to change how they incorporate they can.
I am experienced in candid photography and always provide in-motion prompts that clients can follow and the photos look effortless and easeful.
When it comes to intimate photos for couples or engagement photos, I provide prompts for the couple to really center themselves in and almost feel like I am no longer there.
I am a professional fly on the wall when need be. But can easily step into the director roll when needed.
I am happy to provide reference photos that we can look at and try to replicate the pose. For engagement sessions and more in-depths sessions, I create mood boards as well.
For engagements, do you include props?
Engagements do include props when they are booked for 2HRS. Props can include, neutral tone blanket, Champagne classes, Champagne, flowers, vases etc. For more information on Engagement Sessions, please check out page.
